SLOW FADE

THE SLOW FADE...
Do you have a sin in your life?
Not just a mistake. Not just a slip-up of a word. Not just something that makes you feel a little guilty now and then.
I mean a sin that is pulling you away from God. A sin you justify. A sin you keep excusing. A sin you keep running back to even when you know it’s wrecking you.
A sin that has slowly, silently, stolen something from you.
Because sin doesn’t usually show up and announce itself with flashing lights and a full-scale attack. It’s a slow fade.
It starts with a compromise.
A small shift.
A little excuse.
A choice that seems harmless.
And then, one day, you wake up and realize—you’re nowhere near where you used to be.
You don’t hear God like you used to.
You don’t feel His presence like you once did.
You don’t pray as much, and when you do, it feels distant.
Your heart doesn’t break over the things that once broke it. Your joy feels shallow, your peace—fleeting. You’ve learned to live in this numb place, convincing yourself it’s fine. That you’re fine.
But if you’re honest?
You’re far.
Far from the passion you once had.
Far from the intimacy you used to know.
Far from the fire that used to burn inside you.
And it didn’t happen overnight. It was a slow drift, a series of tiny surrenders, one moment at a time, until the distance between you and God wasn’t just a step—it was a canyon.
And maybe you’ve told yourself, I can turn back whenever I want.
Maybe you’ve said, I still love God, I’m just in a different season.
Maybe you’ve decided, It’s not that big of a deal. Other people do worse.
But sin never stays small.
Compromise never stays contained.
Distance never stays manageable.
The enemy’s greatest deception is to make you believe you’re in control while he’s leading you further into chains.
And here’s the hardest part...
The longer you stay, the harder it is to hear His voice.
Not because God stops speaking, but because your heart stops listening.
So here’s my question:
How far have you let this sin take you?
How much has it stolen from you?
How much has it dulled your fire?
How much has it weakened your conviction?
Here’s the real question—are you going to let it take more?
Because sin will take everything you let it.
Your passion.
Your calling.
Your peace.
Your joy.
Your identity.
And ultimately—your purpose.
But listen to me—you don’t have to stay here.
This isn’t the end of your story.
There’s still a way back.
There’s still grace waiting.
There’s still a Savior who died so that sin doesn’t get to win.
But you have to make a choice.
Right now.
Not later. Not after one more time. Not when you feel ready.
Now.
Because the longer you wait, the further you’ll go. And the further you go, the harder it will be to turn back.
But Jesus is standing here, arms wide open, saying...
Come home.
Let it go.
For real this time.
Not halfway. Not with a backup plan. Not with one foot still in.
Drop it. Run back. Let Him heal what’s been broken.
Because your soul is worth more than whatever is holding you back.
And Jesus?
He’s worth more than whatever you’re afraid to lose.
