Wellspring really began as an experiment.
We met in our local Quality Inn Conference room for months.
We wrestled with what God wanted Wellspring to become.
We didn't want to just be another church in town, rather we wanted to become a neighborhood where everyone knew they were welcome.

So many have been burned out by a church or burned by a church. 

We started to ask ourselves questions:
How do we help them get back to seeing the church for what Jesus meant for it to be?
How do we live out that the church is not a place but rather a group of people who have Jesus in common?
How do we change the perception of church to those who don't yet know Jesus? 

It was in the search of these answers that we believe God revealed something deep and simple. 

The two greatest commands given in the Bible are repeated in both the old and new testaments.
1. Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul and mind.
2. Love your neighbor like you love yourself.

To put it simple, because it was always supposed to be simple. Love God and love people.

We want to follow Jesus into the places where we live, work, play, and worship—and help one another be the church wherever God has placed us.

You don't have to clean yourself up first. We all need Jesus, and God's grace is greater than our sin. When one of us struggles, others are there to encourage. At different times, we all need that help.

We want to know and enjoy Jesus so deeply that his love becomes visible in how we live. If that feels unfamiliar, you're welcome to explore it with us. We're growing too.
