Baptism is the gospel told in water. Jesus already did the saving when He died, was buried, and rose again for you. Baptism is how you picture it and proclaim it. You go under to show His death and burial. You come up to show His resurrection, and the new life that's already yours in Him. It's joy you can feel. It's grace you can see. It's the moment you stand in front of everyone and say, "I'm His."
